How to Perform Ushas Mudra:

  • Interlock the fingers of both hands.
  • Keep your palms facing upward and gently press the right thumb over the left thumb.
  • For women, place the right thumb between the left thumb and index finger and gently press.

Benefits of Ushas Mudra:

  1. Eliminates Morning Laziness:
    • If you feel lazy upon waking up, practice this mudra as soon as you open your eyes. Place your hands under your head, take 5-6 deep breaths, open your eyes and mouth, and while exhaling, feel that all tension is leaving your body. After this, perform a lying Tadasana (stretching your feet forward and arms overhead). You’ll feel refreshed and easily get out of bed.
  2. Energizing and Refreshing:
    • The name of this mudra is inspired by Usha, meaning dawn or morning. Just as a new morning brings new possibilities and energy, this mudra stimulates fresh energy within, awakening the Swadhisthana Chakra (the center of action in the body). This chakra promotes activity, enthusiasm, and joy, balancing your hormonal system and energizing other chakras such as the Manipura, Anahata, and Vishuddha chakras.
  3. Start the Day with Energy:
    • Practicing this mudra right after waking up ensures you’ll have an energized and positive day. It helps to channel your energy in the right direction, leading to better productivity and focus throughout the day.
