Indra Mudra, also known as Varuna Mudra in yogic scriptures, is a powerful hand gesture that balances the water element in the body. This mudra is crucial for maintaining hydration and overall health, as water constitutes about 72% of the human body. It promotes skin health, prevents dehydration, and alleviates various water-related imbalances.


Method to Practice Indra Mudra

  1. Forming the Mudra:
    • Touch the tip of the little finger (Kanishtha) to the tip of the thumb (Angushtha).
    • Keep the other three fingers straight and relaxed.
  2. Duration and Posture:
    • Practice for 15 minutes, three times a day, either sitting comfortably in a meditative pose or in a relaxed chair.
  3. Precautions:
    • Avoid this mudra if you have conditions like cold, flu, sinus congestion, or excessive phlegm.
