Method:

  • Join the tips of all five fingers of both hands together, keeping the hands open. This brings all the five elements of both hands into alignment.
  • Gaze upward with your eyes.
  • While inhaling, press the tip of your tongue against the gums, and while exhaling, return the tongue to its original position.
  • Take long, deep breaths.

Duration:

As desired.

Benefits:

  1. Improves Memory:
    • This mudra is highly beneficial for enhancing memory. It activates the right hemisphere of the brain, where memory cells are located.
  2. Strengthens the Lungs:
    • When practiced with deep breathing, it strengthens the lungs and improves the respiratory system.
  3. Balances the Brain:
    • It maintains a balance between the right and left hemispheres of the brain.
  4. Aids in Recall:
    • If you are unable to recall something, such as an object or name, practice this mudra while focusing on that item.
  5. Beneficial for Students:
    • This mudra is highly advantageous for students, as it fosters new ideas and creativity.
  6. Enhances Brain Energy:
    • If practiced with Tribandh (three locks: Mool Bandh, Uddiyan Bandh, and Jalandhar Bandh), it increases brain energy.
  7. Ajna Chakra Activation:
    • Hakini Mudra is associated with the deity of the Ajna Chakra, which governs and controls all our actions and activities.
