We have previously created eight elemental mudras—using the tips of the four fingers and thumb together and by pressing the four fingers against the thumb. Now, we will combine the benefits of all these eight mudras.

Method:

This mudra is performed with long, deep breaths. Sit in Padmasana or Sukhasana and place both hands on your knees with the palms facing upward.

First Phase:

  1. Exhale completely.
  2. Inhale and open the fingers of both hands.
  3. Exhale and form the Jnana Mudra with your hands.
  4. Inhale, open your mouth, and pronounce “O”. When the sound reaches your navel, close your mouth and exhale while pronouncing “M”.

Repeat this process with the Prithvi Mudra (Earth Mudra), Akasha Mudra (Space Mudra), and Indra Mudra.

Second Phase:

  1. Sequentially form the Vayu Mudra (Air Mudra), Shunya Mudra (Void Mudra), Surya Mudra (Sun Mudra), and Varuna Mudra (Water Mudra) and pronounce “O” and “M”.

Third Phase:

  1. Sequentially form all five Pranic Mudras and pronounce “O” and “M”.

Benefits:

  1. Practicing these actions for 5 to 30 minutes provides the benefits of all elemental and pranic mudras.
  2. It enhances the ability to speak and learn.
  3. It increases concentration.
  4. Repeated pronunciation of “Om” calms the mind.
  5. Regularly straightening the hands helps dispel negative thoughts.

Special Note:

The longer and deeper the breaths are during this practice, the longer the pronunciation of “O” and “M” will be, and the greater the benefits will become.
