Method:

  1. Finger Positioning:
    • Middle Fingers: Fold the middle fingers of both hands and bring their nails together.
    • Other Fingers: Keep all other fingers and thumbs extended and straight.
  2. Duration and Frequency:
    • Perform this mudra for 5 minutes.
    • Repeat it 5 times a day.

Benefits:

  1. Treats Asthma:
    • Asthma Relief: This mudra is specifically designed to help manage and alleviate symptoms of asthma. By performing this mudra regularly, individuals with asthma can experience improvement in their condition.
  2. Combined Practice for Asthma Attacks:
    • During an Asthma Attack: When experiencing an asthma attack, first perform Swashani Mudra (Bronchitis Mudra) and then follow with Asthma Mudra. Each mudra should be performed for 5 minutes. This combination can provide significant relief during an asthma episode.
  3. Daily Practice Benefits:
    • Long-Term Relief: Regular use of both Swashani Mudra and Asthma Mudra can offer long-term benefits for asthma sufferers. Consistent practice helps in managing the condition more effectively.
  4. Complementary Breathing Exercises:
    • Additional Recommendations: Asthma patients should also engage in deep breathing exercises and Anulom-Vilom Pranayama (alternate nostril breathing) for 15 minutes in the morning and 15 minutes in the evening. Practicing in fresh air and avoiding extreme cold, dust, and polluted environments can enhance the benefits.
  5. Additional Mudras:
    • Beneficial Mudras: Linga Mudra, Apan Vayu Mudra (Mrit-Sanjeevani Mudra), Prana Mudra, and Surya Mudra are also beneficial for asthma patients.

Special Notes:

  1. Voice Control Technique:
    • Voice Variation: Changing the tone or frequency of the voice every hour can help reduce asthma symptoms significantly.
  2. Suryabhedi Pranayama:
    • Effective Pranayama: Suryabhedi Pranayama (right nostril breathing) is highly effective in managing asthma and should be practiced regularly.

This mudra and additional practices offer a holistic approach to managing asthma by integrating specific hand positions with breathing techniques and lifestyle modifications.
